Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Java Spring Boot Senior Developer to lead our IT team and oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of our software applications. The ideal candidate will have expertise in developing backend using Java Spring Boot and Hibernate, and frontend using HTML-CSS-JS. Additionally, the candidate should possess strong expertise in API development, scaling applications, security best practices, application architecture, and DevOps principles. As the Senior Developer, you will play a critical role in leading a team and shaping the technology landscape of our organisation, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of developers and engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Act as a technical expert in Java Spring framework, actively contributing to the design, development and implementation of frontend and backend services and web applications.
- Design and implement robust and efficient APIs to facilitate data exchange and integration between different software components.
- Develop strategies to scale applications to meet growing user demands, ensuring performance and reliability.
- Implement security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle to safeguard sensitive data and protect against potential vulnerabilities.
- Design and optimise software architectures to ensure modularity, flexibility, and maintainability of the applications.
- Act as the point of contact with clients for application development requirements & support for maintaining strong relationships based on quality delivery and exceptional service.
- Manage application deployment on UAT and Production environments for seamless deployment and postproduction support.
- Oversee the timely and successful execution of IT projects, tracking progress, managing resources, and ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential application in improving our software solutions.
- Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex technical issues and challenges faced by the development team.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven 4 to 6 year experience in software development, with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Spring framework, Hibernate, JPA and frontend coding using Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Prior experience in integrating applications & optimising DB handling on database like Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL is mandatory.
- Prior experience in deploying applications on Apache Tomcat, Glassfish and Apache is a must.
- Proficiency in API development and integration, with a focus on RESTful APIs and Web Services.
- Familiarity with application scaling techniques to handle high traffic and load balancing.
- Understanding of security best practices and measures to safeguard software applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of application architecture and design patterns.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Having knowledge of cloud computing platforms is a plus.
